ncbf are delighted to announce the venue and date for the National Festival 2012 and arrangements for the 2011 Regional Festivals.
National Festival 2012
Royal Academy of Music, London on Saturday and Sunday, 31st March and 1st April 2012
"this year's event from start to finish was superb" - conductor
"an enjoyable experience, chances to form friendships, opportunities to explore musical ability and teamwork - absolutely fantastic" - player
"a successful, efficient and enjoyable festival....some wonderful performances" - adjudicator
These are challenging times for NCBF and like many arts-based charities, it is sometimes hard to be able to plan much in advance.
With the on-going financial support of Yamaha and R. Smith & Co., NCBF have been able to offer a number of Regional Festivals leading to a National Festival held in different venues around the UK – even this is proving a challenge to maintain.
However, we can confirm the 2012 National Festival will be held at the Royal Academy of Music, Marylebone Road, London on Saturday 31 March and Sunday 01 April – the first time that NCBF has been in London for over two decades!
With the Midlands Regional on Sunday 20 November 2011 in Northampton and the East Regional on Sunday 27 November 2011 in Colchester, the other Regional Festivals are confirmed as:
Sunday 30 October Scotland Regional: Glasgow - University of Strathclyde, Jordanhill Campus - G13 1PP
Sunday 20 November North Regional: Rochdale Town Hall - OL16 1AB
Sunday 27 November West Regional: Cheltenham Ladies College - GL50 3EP
Attempting to match date/venue/expenditure is paramount to the survival of NCBF, so please keep looking at our website for more info.
Please spend time looking at the new NCBF repertoire lists, now much more user-friendly, where you can pick any piece(s) from the list to include in your programme.
